I know that we've all experienced it as a parent, you've just said something to your kid, that, taken out of context would sound completely and utterly bizarre, but within the context of parenting, makes *perfect* sense.
Such a thing happened today during lunch when my girlfriend said to her 4 year old daughter:
"Honey, if the almond has been in your bum, then you have to put it in the garbage."
Um.....yeah. Sound advice, really, even taken OUT of the parenting context.....
